Onix and Steelix Will Start Appearing from November 14 (15:00 Local Time)
Onix and Steelix will have a chance of appearing after sleep session starting on November 14, 2023 at 3 PM local time.
These two Pokemon are only the second pair to be introduced into the game outside of an event, with the first being Mr. Mime and Mime Jr.

Possible Introduction of the Metal Coat Item
Since Onix evolves into Steelix by trading while holding a Metal Coat in traditional Pokemon games, it's possible that we may see this evolution item introduced along with these Pokemon.

Onix and Steelix Research Area in Pokemon Sleep
Onix and Steelix Can be Found at Taupe Hollow
Taupe Hollow is the only confirmed research area for these two new Pokemon. Steelix, as an evolved Pokemon, will likely only start appearing at a high Snorlax rating in this research area.
You can unlock Taupe Hollow by having 70 Sleep Styles registered to your Sleep Style Dex.

Both Onix and Steelix are confirmed to be Slumbering Pokemon, which is the common Sleep Type for Rock and Steel-type Pokemon.
Steelix will be the first Steel-type Pokemon in Pokemon Sleep outside of the Magnemite line and, therefore, one of the few sources of the Belue Berry.
Onix obtains the Sitrus Berry as a Rock-type.
